2-1-1 Orange County provides comprehensive information and referral to persons in need of health and human services. 2-1-1 Specialists are available 24/7/365. Callers simply dial three digits, 211, to be connected to multi-lingual specialists. 2-1-1 OC participates in many community meetings to learn about existing and new services. 2-1-1 OC also provides caller data to our funders to help with planning and forecasting. It is important that our partners recognize that we do not provide any direct service, other than referrals. We provide information to enable our callers to move towards self-sufficiency and/or to find helpful resources that may make a difference.
The "How Safe is OC's Safety Net?" town hall meeting was held on April 6, 2010. It was organized by 2-1-1 Orange County and the Center for Internships & Commnity Engagement at Cal State Fullerton. To prepare for the panel presentations, service providers and other stakeholders participated in a series of focus group in advance of the town hall event. Chairs were: Glenn Hayes (Housing), Sandra Rose (Health), Mark Lowry (Hunger), and Andrew Munoz (employment). Moderator of the town hall dialog was Karen Roper, County of Orange Community Services.
