The panelists consistently spoke of the lack of coordination of services. What concrete efforts, if any, are being made to coordinate or manage services via a centralized system?
Currently 2-1-1 OC provides information & referral services to our community. Our “centralized system” is our database that is utilized for making resource referrals. Community residents and service providers are encouraged to dial 211 for information on health and human services.
The "How Safe is OC's Safety Net?" town hall meeting was held on April 6, 2010. It was organized by 2-1-1 Orange County and the Center for Internships & Commnity Engagement at Cal State Fullerton. To prepare for the panel presentations, service providers and other stakeholders participated in a series of focus group in advance of the town hall event. Chairs were: Glenn Hayes (Housing), Sandra Rose (Health), Mark Lowry (Hunger), and Andrew Munoz (employment). Moderator of the town hall dialog was Karen Roper, County of Orange Community Services.

For us, it is building partnerships but I don't know that there is a coordinated or centralized system. I don't think one agency can do it all.
